Dancing with the Stars is back for its 18th season and this time stronger than ever! The 9-year-old show announced their latest and greatest cast early last week. Though the show does well enough as far as ratings are concerned, the producers are aiming to have a slight change in demographic. They have since fired co-host Brooke Burke and replaced the 28-member orchestra with a small electric band. Therefore, this season’s cast will be more attractive to the 13 to 25 demographic, as well as its music.
This year, we can expect to see some pretty familiar faces. It seems there will be a battle of the 90’s stars, as Candace Cameron-Bure aka DJ Tanner and Danica McKellar, Winnie from The Wonder Years, take the floor. And let’s not forget the abundance of heartthrobs: pop-sensation, Cody Simpson, boy band hunk, James Maslow of Big Time Rush, and NHL player, Sean Avery. Avery isn’t the only one from the sports department! We can also expect Olympian gold medalists and ice-skating couple, Charlie White and Meryl Davis, as well as long-distance swimmer, Diana Nyad and para-olympian snowboarder, Amy Purdy. And finally, Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Nene Leakes, Star Wars actor, Billy Dee Williams, and daytime television host, Drew Carey.
