Keep An Eye Out: Demi Lovato on the Neon Lights Tour – Taking the World by Storm

Demi Lovato has made it a long way since her days on the Disney Channel, where she starred in  As the Bell Rings and Sonny With a Chance. And let’s not forget the movie series that launched her career altogether, Camp Rock. Lovato has also overcome a number of personal issues, including an eating disorder and self-harm, back in 2010.

Since then she has done nothing but lead by example for her fans and young girls everywhere, taking the world by storm. She has written two new albums, Unbroken (2011) and Demi (2013), which each topped the pop charts at the time of their release. Currently, Lovato is making her way across the country, starting from the west coast, on the Neon Lights Tour. She claimed in several interviews that this will be her “biggest tour yet”. In her interview with MTV, Lovato said she was inspired by Beyoncé, who just released a new album that has a music video accompanying each song.

Lovato wanted to incorporate her old music while still conveying her new sound. With the help of Nick Jonas, the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers, she was able to do so. Jonas is known to have an eye for creativity in the world of showbiz. Considering the two went on tour together back in ’08 and ’10, Lovato was able to put her trust in him. Knowing he would get the job done and get it done well, she named him the musical and creative director of the Neon Lights Tour.

The tour kicked off February 9th, 2014. After reading several reviews (Review: Demi Lovato At The Honda Center), many feel that Demi’s show is nothing less than perfect. The show opens up with the XFactor USA girl group, Fifth Harmony, who is then followed by America’s Got Talent’s quirky, young magician Collins Key and finally the United Kingdom’s sassy girl group, Little Mix (yet another product of reality television, Britain’s XFactor). Finally, Demi takes the stage, said to be opening with one of her latest and greatest hits Heart Attack, one of last summer’s anthems. Demi has combined music and video in an incredible way, playing clips of both old and new music videos behind her throughout her performances. In recent shows, she has brought out Jonas, taking the audience by surprise, to perform several acoustic duets.

Aside from virtual entertainment, Demi brings her own personality and talent to the stage. She strays from being a choreographed robot and instead rocks out freely to her music as she performs. Lovato continues to follow Michael Jackson’s lead in making a show appealing to the eye through stage magic but she puts her own twist on things.

Demi Lovato is a strong-minded and empowered young woman who successfully conveys her message through her music and performances. Her fans (Lovatics, as they call themselves) see her as a gifted artist who has overcome great difficulties with an even greater amount of accomplishments! Everyday she continues to put a smile on each and every one of their faces.

Thus far, Lovato has kept up with her goal to make this tour the “biggest one yet”. Shows all over have sold out in nearly seconds!

Long Island can be expecting Demi March 11 at the Nassau Coliseum, with few tickets still available!
